Has anyone else considered the weather conditions when Robert and Tina went missing? I was reading old reports, and it mentioned that the temperature had been fluctuating quite a bit that week, leading to thinner ice in certain areas of the Yukon River. Could this be why their snow machine ended up in the water? I wonder if the ice gave way when they were crossing. It's just baffling to me that such an experienced young man like Robert, who grew up around these parts, would make a misjudgment like this. What do you all think? Could unpredictable weather have played a bigger role here than we realize?
I'm curious if anyone has looked into weather conditions in the area on December 23, 1989, the day when Robert Wayne Kruger and Tina Mary Young went missing. Given that their snow machine tracks ended at open water, could a sudden change in the weather have played a role? I know conditions in Alaska can be pretty unpredictable that time of year. Was there a storm or rapid temperature shift that might have caused ice to break? I feel like understanding the environmental aspect could shed some light on what might have happened to them. Any insights or historical weather info from that time would be appreciated!
