I've been following the case of Christian Roberts and Malik Davis, and it just gets more tragic with every update. My heart goes out to their families and loved ones—no one should have to endure such a senseless loss. Something that struck me was the involvement of such young people in this crime. It's deeply unsettling to think that kids as young as 15 and 16 are caught up in gang violence to the extent that they'd actually take a life. This isn't just a failure on the individuals' part, but on the system and community as a whole. How do we let our youth slip through the cracks like this? I hope this case prompts a serious discussion on how we can intervene earlier and offer better support and mentorship to prevent more tragedies like this. It's terrifying to think about the paths these young perpetrators might have taken if different opportunities and guidance had been available to them. Watching to see how the legal proceedings develop but hoping for broader changes too.
