I just can't get this case out of my mind. It's been so long since the F/V St. George vanished along with those poor souls onboard. I've always been puzzled by the empty life raft. If it was found, it means someone managed to deploy it, right? But why didn't it lead to any of the crew members being found? Were they unable to reach it due to the harsh conditions, or did something else prevent them from getting to safety? It's just unnerving to think about all the possibilities. Does anyone know if similar cases have ever had developments after so many years? It's the not knowing that haunts me.

Has anyone else looked into the weather conditions on the night the F/V "St. George" went missing? I read that the maritime reports indicated rough seas and poor visibility around Unimak Pass that night. It makes me wonder if those conditions could have hampered the search efforts significantly. It’s just baffling to me that no trace beyond the life raft was ever found. I’m curious if any experienced seafarers could share insight into how such conditions might affect a vessel’s distress signals or search and rescue operations. It's such a haunting aspect of this case—knowing these men vanished without a trace in such an isolated area.
