I’ve been thinking a lot about Lataveon's grandmother, Christine Hughes. Losing a grandson so senselessly must be a burden too heavy to bear. Grandparents often have such special bonds with their grandkids, and I can only imagine the devastation and emptiness she must feel. Just knowing how close they were and how much she meant to him makes this tragedy hit even harder. I hope she finds some peace and strength surrounded by the love of the community and those who knew Lataveon. The ripple effects of such a loss are so far-reaching, touching lives in ways we often can’t fully grasp. Sending love and support to Christine and the rest of the family.

I've been following Lataveon Cosey's case, and I keep thinking about the impact this has had on his friends. Losing a friend in such a violent and sudden way at such a young age must be incredibly tough to process. It's heartbreaking to consider that these kids, who should be focused on school and sports, are left grappling with the loss of someone they saw practically every day. Lataveon's teammates must especially feel the void on the court, where he once played with them. It's important for the community to rally around these young people, offering them the support and counseling they need to navigate through this trauma. Remembering Lataveon by sharing stories or holding events in his honor could be a way to bring everyone together and perhaps begin healing. If anyone in the Jackson area has more info on any memorial activities, please do share.
