In light of the tragedy involving Gale Hall Verner, I've been reflecting on how incredibly strong her daughter, Mya, must be. It's unimaginable to survive such trauma and loss at such a young age. As a community, we often speak of resilience, but Mya truly embodies it. The way local residents have come together to support her is a testament to the compassion of Horn Lake. I hope she finds some comfort knowing she's not alone in this fight. No one should have to endure such pain, but it's clear that Mya has an entire community rallying behind her. Sending love to Mya and to those who knew Gale.?

Reading about Gale Hall Verner’s story and her tragic end has truly struck a chord with me. I can’t stop thinking about the concert she and her daughter, Mya, attended just hours before everything happened. It was supposed to be a night of joy and bonding for them. Instead, it turned into a heartbreaking night that no one saw coming. It's hard to imagine how quickly such a peaceful evening turned into a nightmare. Gale had tried everything to protect herself and Mya, especially with that protection order against Marvin. It’s so deeply frustrating to think that even after taking those precautionary steps, she was unable to escape the violence Marvin brought into their lives. It makes me realize just how crucial it is for systems to better support and protect victims of domestic violence. To anyone reading this who knew Gale or Mya, please know my thoughts are with you. Let’s keep supporting Mya as she continues to recover and hopefully find some semblance of peace. No one should have to go through what she’s experienced.
