Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into more about Shanelle’s case lately, and I am so puzzled about the specifics of that night at the dock. I've seen some discussions on the currents in False Pass around that time, and it seems like they were particularly strong. Does anyone know if there were any recorded incidents of people falling in the water and what those outcomes were? I’m curious if there’s been any talk of installing safety measures or warning signs around that area to prevent things like this from happening again. Also, what about the history of rescues or recoveries from Isanotski Strait? It just seems so tragic that someone could vanish like this; you'd think with today's technology we'd have more ways to find someone. I'm hoping there might be some local folks here who can share some insight into the community's response or changes since then. Thanks!

Has anyone else looked into the tides and currents around False Pass around the time Shanelle disappeared? The Isanotski Strait is notorious for its strong currents, and I’ve read that many areas in Alaska experience complex and shifting water movements. It’s really tragic that the tide was ebbing when Shanelle fell in, making it that much harder for any immediate recovery efforts. I know the Coast Guard and local volunteers conducted extensive searches, but does anyone have info on how far the currents in that area could potentially carry someone? It just seems like getting a clearer understanding might help in piecing together the full picture of what might have happened that night.

Does anyone have more information about the tide and weather conditions in False Pass during Shanelle's disappearance? I know the currents were described as strong, but I've been trying to map out how far someone might have been swept away under those circumstances. Could the flow have made any search efforts even more challenging? It's devastating to imagine such a bright young life being taken by the sea so suddenly. If anyone local or familiar with the area can shed light on how these waters behave, it might help better understand what happened that night.
