Hey everyone, I've been reading about the unfortunate incident involving Latroye Williams from the F/V Flying Ocean. From what I've gathered, his crew did everything they could—throwing a life ring and marking the spot immediately with buoys—when he was pulled overboard. It's terrifying to think how quickly something like this can happen, even for seasoned crew members. I've been thinking a lot about the equipment used on these vessels. Does anyone know if there are specific protocols or newer technologies to prevent these types of accidents? It seems like a freak tragedy, but I wonder if there's more that can be done to prevent similar incidents. Would love to hear thoughts or any relevant experiences.
