Hey everyone, I’ve been following Shawn Cornelius Alston's case for a while now, and something that’s been puzzling me is the timing of the search efforts. Does anyone else find it odd how quickly or maybe not quickly enough they organized the searches after he went missing? I read somewhere that North Carolina Highway Patrol did search the nearby woods pretty soon after he was reported missing, but were there any delays or gaps in those initial efforts? Also, did they bring in any K9 units or utilize any advanced tech like thermal imaging during those early searches? Often, the first 48 hours are so crucial, and I can’t help but wonder if every possible resource was used efficiently. Just trying to piece together if something back then could’ve been done differently to uncover any leads. Anyone have any insights or thoughts on this aspect?
I’ve been following Shawn Alston’s case, and something I can't stop thinking about is the route he was last seen taking home. For anyone familiar with Garysburg, isn’t it odd that he would end up getting lost in that area, even with his level of intoxication? It's not like Garysburg is a huge city where one could easily get turned around. Plus, if he was redirected, you'd think he’d at least make it part of the way back, right? I wonder if there were any traffic or security cams on nearby businesses that could have captured more of his movements after he was last seen. It seems like such a critical detail that could offer more insight into what really happened that night. If anyone's local, do you remember if they ever mentioned reviewing any footage in the news or anything back then?
Has anyone else looked into the layout of where Shawn Alston went missing? I've been curious about the route he took after leaving the bar that night. It seems odd that he wandered off the path, even if he was intoxicated. From what I gathered, someone redirected him, yet somehow, he still didn't make it home. I'm no expert, but could there possibly have been something that disoriented him further on the way, like a poorly lit area or an unexpected encounter? It just seems like there's more to this puzzle—what happened between him being redirected and disappearing? Also, has anyone found any additional information about who saw him last, besides his friend?
