Has anyone else been thinking about the safety measures (or lack thereof) for taxi drivers, especially in high-crime areas like Englewood? Adegboye Oguntade’s case really hits hard when you consider how vulnerable these drivers are while just trying to make an honest living. It seems so unfair that someone doing their job and serving our community could end up like this. I can’t stop thinking about how more could be done to protect drivers—be it better partition systems, improved tracking for cabs, or even safety training. Surely, there’s a way to make their jobs safer. My thoughts are with Adegboye’s family and loved ones who must be feeling this loss so profoundly. It just shouldn’t be this way.
