I've been following Akeem J. Morris's case and it's just so tragic. This young man's life was cut short amidst a wave of violence that seemed to engulf Chicago in 2012. I can't imagine the pain his family and friends feel, knowing that justice still hasn't been served. The fact that this shooting happened while he was just hanging out with others on West End Avenue really brings home how unpredictable and senseless this kind of violence is. It's like, one moment you're with your friends, and the next everything changes forever. Sending thoughts to everyone who knew and loved Akeem. Let's hope that with persistence, the authorities can finally make an arrest and bring some closure to those mourning his loss. Stay safe, everyone.
