I’ve been following Derek Johnson’s case for a while now, and one thing that really stands out is the location where it happened. It’s just devastating to think about how this neighborhood has been dealing with so much violence in such a short time. People here must feel so scared and vulnerable, especially when something like this happens to someone as young as Derek. It makes you wonder about the trauma this community is facing, and how much more they can really take. I hope there are community leaders or organizations stepping up to help the residents heal and protect themselves because no one should have to live in constant fear. Derek deserved so much better, and his family is in my thoughts. The neighborhood really needs resources and support to start turning things around.
