I’ve been following the Federico Martinez case since it first happened, and it breaks my heart to think about what his family and friends must be going through. I wanted to discuss the atmosphere in Gage Park during that period. I remember visiting Chicago around 2012, and the tension in certain neighborhoods was palpable. Gage Park, like many areas, seemed gripped by an unnerving stillness punctuated by the harsh realities of crime and violence. Personally, I'd love to hear from anyone who can share insights about community efforts during that time. Were there any grassroots movements or neighborhood watches trying to address these issues? I read that following Federico’s murder, there was an increase in local initiatives, but it’s hard to know what impact they truly had. My heart goes out to those who've had to endure such strife and loss. If anyone knows more about these community responses or how residents are coping nowadays, I’d really appreciate your perspective. Stay safe, everyone.
