I’ve been following Elijah Johnson’s case, and I can’t stop thinking about the challenges law enforcement faces in areas like West Englewood. It’s so upsetting to realize how fear impacts witness cooperation. How can communities start breaking the cycle of silence due to the very real threat of retaliation? It's such a difficult situation for everyone involved. It's essential for us as a society to support initiatives that promote trust between communities and law enforcement to bring justice to Elijah and others like him. Any suggestions on programs or efforts that have been effective in similar situations elsewhere? My heart goes out to his family during this unimaginable time.
