Hi everyone,
I've been digging a bit deeper into Marshal James Horace Frisbie's tragic end and wanted to talk about the suspect's background. Although the available sources don’t specify his identity, it's evident this person was very dangerous. He had already been linked to a train robbery and a violent attack on a station agent—serious crimes that paint a picture of a really bold and reckless individual.
What's truly upsetting is thinking about how law enforcement had to deal with such threats without the resources we have today. It must have been incredibly daunting for Frisbie and his colleagues. This suspect clearly had no reservations about using violence, making it all the more courageous that Frisbie pursued him to protect the community.
I truly feel for Frisbie's family and the Lamar community during that time, having to process such a shocking and painful loss. It's awful to think someone could cause such irreversible damage. Has anyone found more details or theories on who the suspect might have been, or if he was ever caught? Would love any leads or discussions on this.
Take care, everyone.
I've been thinking about Marshal James Horace Frisbie and how little information we have on the suspect involved in his tragic death. It's mind-boggling to me that we don't even know who this person was or whether justice was ever served. The fact that this dangerous individual had been linked to a train robbery and the assault of a railroad station agent only adds to the frustration. It must have been incredibly distressing for Frisbie's family and the community of Lamar at the time, grappling not only with their loss but also with the uncertainty about whether the person responsible would be held accountable. If anyone has come across more details or knows of archives or records that might shed light on what happened afterward, it would be great to learn more and perhaps help bring some closure to this case, even so many years later.
