I've been reading up on the tragic case of Town Marshal John M. Rennix, and I'm struck by how the town of New Castle came together in the aftermath of his murder. I truly believe that honoring their memory through commemorative events or memorials keeps their spirit alive and reminds us all of the sacrifices made by those who serve.
