I keep coming back to the weather reports from that day. October can be pretty unpredictable out there, and I read somewhere that the wind conditions were rough around the time Elizabeth and the others went missing. I’m no expert, but a small, open-hulled skiff might not stand up too well against a sudden squall, especially with seven people and gear on board. Could a wind shift or strong waves have played a role in whatever happened? I wonder if anyone in the area reported unusual weather patterns or remembers the conditions worsening that day. It might seem like a small detail, but sometimes it’s those little things that could give us a clue as to what might have happened out there on Eek Island. Would love to hear any thoughts or if anyone has related info about Alaskan hunting trips during that season.

I’ve been reading about Elizabeth and the group that went missing out of Quinhagak, and something about the route they took stands out. I grew up near the area, and I know the weather and water conditions can change rapidly, especially when you’re out near the mouth of the Eek River. I’m wondering if anyone else familiar with the area remembers any unusual weather reports or water conditions from around October 20, 2020? Did they hit an unexpected storm or maybe deal with a tide issue? It's baffling how an entire group with a rig like that just disappeared without a trace. If there are any locals on here, your insights could be valuable!
