I was going through some old articles and came across the case of Officer Celena Hollis. It's so hard to wrap my head around how someone who was so dedicated to protecting others and serving her community could have their life taken in such a senseless act of violence. One detail that really struck me was how Rollin Oliver, the suspect, got hold of the gun used in the shooting. It’s chilling to think about how easy it seemed for him to access a weapon, especially after having been shot himself in a previous incident. It really hits home how gun access can have dire consequences. My heart goes out to Officer Hollis’s family and especially her daughter, Amyre, who had to grow up without her mom. I can't imagine the strength it takes to face each day after such a loss.
