I can't stop thinking about how important it is for us to have more conversations around mental health, especially in careers like law enforcement. The discovery of psychiatric medication in the Samento home has left me wondering if Daniel was struggling with something that wasn't visible to those around him. It's a sobering reminder of the pressure so many face alone. Both Priscilla and Daniel were prominent parts of the Canon City community, and it's hard to reconcile the image of a respected former police officer with such a tragic end. I hope this opens up discussions about how we can better support officers and their families in dealing with emotional and psychological challenges. Sending my deepest condolences to the Samento family's friends and loved ones who are grappling with this unimaginable loss.
