Has anyone looked into the possibility of forgotten witnesses in Jacqueline Lerman's case? Rockaway Beach in the late 70s was a lively neighborhood, especially with so many folks out and about. I’m curious if there might have been someone who saw her that day but didn’t realize the importance of it at the time. Maybe someone working in the shops nearby or just another resident who was outside. As we've seen in other cases, sometimes witnesses come forward years later when they recognize a detail from the news that jogs their memory. It's a long shot, but perhaps additional outreach in the community, even after all these years, might bring something new to light. Anyone know if there was ever a public campaign to re-interview people from the area?
I've been digging through some old news articles and interviews about Jacqueline Lerman's disappearance, and something struck me. There seemed to be a lot of emphasis on the area around her apartment in Rockaway Beach where she was last seen, but not much mention of any connections she might have had beyond that neighborhood. Was she involved in any activities or groups that might have taken her out of the area regularly? Considering how tight-knit her group of friends and family was, it feels odd that there's such a lack of information about her movements outside of her immediate neighborhood. It makes me wonder if there could be some overlooked detail about her routine that might be important. Is there anyone who might have seen her in a different part of town around that time or even interacted with her outside of Rockaway Beach?
