I've been following the Tesoriero case, and I can't stop thinking about how many red flags were overlooked. As a parent myself, I can't imagine the fear and frustration Ty's mother must have felt, watching those alarming signs being dismissed over and over again. It seems like Anthony Tesoriero knew exactly how to game the system, and that makes my skin crawl. If caseworkers and investigators felt intimidated, it's no wonder they couldn't protect Ty. I'm particularly saddened by the lack of accountability from Douglas County DHS. Who in their right mind would allow unsupervised visits when there were clear reports of aggressive behavior? It's infuriating to think there were opportunities to intervene and they were missed. I've been hoping the state investigation they started will bring real change to the system so no other family has to endure this kind of tragedy. Ty deserved so much better, and I hope we can all learn from this to prevent it from happening again. My thoughts are with Ty’s family and everyone affected by this unfathomable loss.
