I can't stop thinking about the family of Johnny Hurley, the bystander who stepped in that day. It’s so tough to wrap my head around the fact that someone who rushed in to help was mistaken for a threat and paid the ultimate price. I'm really touched by his bravery and selflessness. It must be devastating for his loved ones, knowing he acted heroically yet didn't make it home. My heart goes out to everyone involved in this tragic event. Doesn’t it make you wonder about how chaos and split-second decisions can lead to such tragic misunderstandings? Sending love and support to all those who are grieving. ?

I can't stop thinking about Johnny Hurley's actions that day. Imagine the bravery it takes to step in during such a chaotic and dangerous situation. He didn't hesitate when others were in danger, and his intervention ultimately stopped Troyke from causing more harm. It's tragic and deeply upsetting that his heroic act ended the way it did. What a heart-wrenching situation for his family, knowing that he saved lives but lost his own in the process. It's important we continue to share stories that honor Johnny's courage while also pushing for harder questions to be asked about how to prevent these situations from turning so tragic. Truly, how can we better support our officers and ensure that good Samaritans are recognized and protected?
