Hey everyone,
I've been reading through the threads about Deangelo Diggenes, and something stuck with me. I know there hasn't been much released about the specifics of that tragic night, but I couldn't help but wonder about the impact on his circle of friends. Losing someone so suddenly and violently must be such a heavy burden to carry, especially for those who were close to him.
Chicago's violence in 2016 put so many young people like Deangelo in perilous situations. His friends, many of whom probably grew up with him and shared countless memories, now have to navigate their lives with this shadow of grief and trauma. I just hope they have access to the support they need and find some peace in remembering the good times they shared with him.
Does anyone have any more insight into community support systems for victims' families in Chicago? I feel like understanding this more might help us see a way forward.
I can't stop thinking about the bigger picture surrounding Deangelo Diggenes's tragic death. I’ve been following what's been happening in Chicago, and honestly, it's tough to see neighborhoods being torn apart by gun violence. We all focus on Deangelo because each name and life cut short deserves our attention and justice, but his story is one of many that year. I've read that 2016 was particularly devastating, especially on the South and West sides. It just makes you wonder, what more needs to happen before real change takes hold? Sending love and strength to Deangelo's family and community. No one deserves to live in fear or lose loved ones to senseless violence. Curious about how others on here think we can actually start making a difference—what solutions should be on the table right now?
