Hey everyone, I've been reading through old case files and came across the tragic story of Deputy Sheriff Fortune Crowder. It's just so unfair that someone could lose their life while trying to bring a sense of safety to their community. What really struck me was the role bootlegging played in his murder. It's a reminder of how crime infiltrates even the closest communities and can have devastating impacts on those trying to do good. It's sad that the legal system back then couldn't pin down who exactly was responsible for this terrible act. Does anyone here have more insights into how bootlegging operations impacted Jefferson County back in those days? And how these dangerous networks could have played a part in obstructing justice for Deputy Crowder? Sending thoughts to those who remember him and his legacy.
