Hey everyone,
This case hits particularly close to home because George Poole graduated from the same high school as my cousin, and I remember hearing great things about him. It's so shocking and just difficult to wrap your mind around. I keep thinking about George’s friends and family—especially those who knew him well from school. They lost someone who was not only part of their community but never hesitated to lend a hand or share a laugh.
I’ve been following along, and it really makes you think about just how random and senseless violence can be. George’s shift that day at the Sonic was supposed to be like any other, yet it ended in tragedy. Does anyone know if the Sonic has some sort of memorial in place or if the community has held any gatherings to honor him yet? It would be comforting to see the community come together to remember George in a positive way.
If anyone wanted to share local information or thoughts, I think it would be appreciated by all of us who are still trying to process how something like this could happen in our small town.
Stay safe, everyone.

Just came across this case about George Poole and it's really been on my mind. I used to live not too far from Paris, Arkansas, and it's such a small, tight-knit community. The loss of someone like George must be hitting the town hard. I keep thinking about how this happened in broad daylight at a Sonic Drive-In of all places—a spot that's usually buzzing with life and people grabbing lunch or hanging out with friends. It's just so surreal. Knowing that a young man with such a promising future was taken away in a place where everyone is supposed to feel safe makes it even more tragic. My heart goes out to George's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. It's not just the loss of George that's painful, but also realizing how such violent acts can shake a sense of security in everyday spaces. Let's hope the investigation brings some clarity and peace to everyone hurting right now.
