I keep thinking about Donald Johnson’s family and how devastating this must be for them. Chicago’s South and West sides have been plagued by violence for so long, yet every personal story like Donald's hits me hard. It’s so frustrating to know that despite increased efforts between the police and community organizations, such tragedies still happen. It makes you wonder how much more needs to be done to truly make these neighborhoods safe. The easy access to illegal guns is outrageous and surely plays a role in this. Donald’s loss is not just a statistic; he was a person with loved ones left reeling. I'm hoping his family can find some peace and that these neighborhoods see the change they deserve soon.
