Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the Deonte Simmons case for a while and something that really puzzles me is the community's silence. It seems like someone out there must have seen or heard something, even if it seemed minor at the time. It’s so frustrating how this lack of cooperation keeps happening in these cases.
I feel for Deonte’s family so much. It’s unimaginable to lose someone you love like this and not have any answers, especially when it seems that the key to solving it could lie within the neighborhood. I’m hoping that maybe discussions on forums like this and others can help people feel more at ease about coming forward, even anonymously.
If anyone here is from Atlanta or nearby and might know something—anything at all—you can call Crime Stoppers and share what you have. It could really help bring some peace to his family and friends who’ve been stuck in this painful limbo for far too long.
Stay safe, everyone.
Hey everyone, I've been following Deonte Simmons' case for a while now, and it truly hits hard knowing that his family still hasn't received justice. I got to thinking about the neighborhood where he was killed. I remember reading that the area had issues with community cooperation, which is pretty disheartening. Why do you all think there’s such a lack of witness involvement in cases like this? Is it fear of retaliation, or maybe distrust in the justice system? It just feels like there must be someone out there who knows or saw something. If we can understand the community dynamics better, maybe there's a way to encourage people to speak up. My thoughts are with Deonte’s loved ones, and I really hope someone comes forward soon.
Hi everyone,
I've been following Deonte Simmons' case for a while, and I can't help but feel frustrated at the lack of progress. It's been nearly a decade, and yet we still seem to be at square one. I recently read that unsolved homicides in Atlanta often face hurdles because of witness reluctance, which is incredibly frustrating. I understand the fear or hesitation in coming forward, but it breaks my heart to think of Deonte's family still waiting for justice and answers. Is there any way we, as a community, can help create a safer environment for witnesses to speak out? Maybe setting up anonymous tips or neighborhood meetings that can encourage cooperation without fear? I just feel like there must be something more we can do to bring justice for Deonte and closure for his family.
Would love to hear everyone's thoughts or any ideas you've got.
