I can’t help but think about how Johnathan’s love for his children must have been such a driving force in his life. In the few interviews and snippets from community members I’ve read, it’s clear that Johnny was not just about providing financial support. His dedication as a father and mentor shone through his involvement in activities and ventures that would benefit not just his own kids but others in the community too. Being an athlete in his own right, and later a coach, Johnny surely instilled values like teamwork, dedication, and resilience in his children. I hope the community can rally around his kids, as losing such a pillar at their ages is unimaginably tough. Anyone else in Roanoke notice the memorial they set up at the local park? It's such a touching tribute, seeing so many come together to honor his memory.
