Does anyone else find it haunting how this tragedy unfolded just days before Montrell was supposed to speak at the teen summit against gun violence? It's almost as if he was being silenced from sharing his message and perhaps preventing further tragedies like his own. I've seen his mentor, Pastor Angel Johnson, talking so passionately about Montrell's vision for a safer community. It really hurts to think about how such a promising young life that was dedicated to making a positive change was so senselessly cut short. My heart goes out to his family, especially with the news of his girlfriend's pregnancy. It's a chilling reminder of the cycle of violence and the importance of catching it early. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight, and let's all hope for justice and healing for those impacted.
