I've been following James William Sease's case since December, and something that's puzzling to me is why his case is listed in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) even though they found his remains at the scene. I know it's probably just a formality to keep records updated, but do others find it strange that someone's not technically "missing" if we know what happened to them? I wonder if this could affect how resources are allocated or if it somehow helps with any potential investigations? Curious to hear your thoughts.
