I’ve been following the discussion around John Carlos Pompilus's case and something that stuck with me was the impact his death has had on the local community, especially with the introduction of the Lauderhill Peace 365 initiative. It's clear that his murder sent shockwaves through the city, leading to a stronger push for change. I can’t imagine the pain his family and friends must be going through, and my heart goes out to them. It's infuriating and saddening to think about how often gun violence cuts young lives short. One thing that raises concern for me is the lack of arrests in John's case. It's been a while since the incident, and it feels like there’s a lack of closure not just for his loved ones but for the whole community. With crime rates on the rise, I'm worried about the safety of other young people in Lauderhill. How effective do you all think these new community initiatives are going to be?
