I've been following the case of Michael Lohmeier's murder since it was first reported, and one detail that's been deeply unsettling to me is how Michael's belongings were left entirely untouched. His wallet, phone, even an expensive camera—all still there. It's hard to understand how someone could commit such a violent act and then just leave without taking anything. The fact that Michael’s possessions weren't stolen makes the crime feel even more bizarre and senseless. If it wasn't a robbery, then why? It's chilling to think about what motivated Neal to approach Michael in the first place. What's perhaps even more troubling is the idea that Michael was just going about his day, maybe planning to take some pictures with that camera of his, completely unaware of the danger approaching. I can't begin to imagine the pain his family is going through. To lose someone who loved simple joys like photography and bike paths in such a violent, unpredictable manner must be incredibly difficult to cope with. I hope they find some solace in knowing the culprit has been caught and that justice, in some form, is being served. My thoughts are with them.
