I’ve been following Deo Santos’ case for some time now, and something that sticks out to me is the location where his car was abandoned. Victoria Street North is a fairly busy and well-known area in Kitchener, right? It’s not like his car was found in some remote or hidden spot. I think there might be significance in choosing that particular location. Maybe Deo was in a hurry or didn’t want to raise suspicion and thought that leaving his car in a business parking lot would be inconspicuous. I wonder if anyone working in that area saw anything unusual. Also, given the time of year—late November in Ontario—could he have been meeting someone indoors to escape the cold? It’s thoughts like these that make me wonder if there was any CCTV footage retrieved from nearby businesses that night. Even if nothing seemed relevant at the time, technology has improved since 2003, and older footage could still hold vital clues that were overlooked. This angle might have been explored, but it makes me hopeful when thinking there could still be other witnesses or information just waiting to be discovered to help solve this case.
