Hello everyone, I've been diving deeper into the case of Tom Ombash and his brother Charles, and I can't help but be struck by the long delay in reporting them missing. It sounds like they left the school around October 5, 1956, but it wasn't until over a month later, on November 10, that the principal reported them as missing. Does anyone know why there was such a delay? Was it common back then for schools not to immediately report when students went missing? Also, I've read somewhere that there were several students who went missing from Pelican Lake over the years. Could there have been a pattern or specific reason that these reports got delayed? I wonder if it had something to do with protocols at the time or if there were underlying reasons that need to be brought to light. If anyone has more insight on the procedures at residential schools back then or has come across similar delays in other cases, I'd love to hear more. This case just keeps revealing more questions than answers. Thanks for your input!
