Hey everyone,
I've been digging back into John Robert Lake's case, and something that's been bugging me lately is the lack of info on how he planned to get to Seattle. I mean, Vancouver to Seattle isn't a short walk, and with no mention of a vehicle or even a ticket for any form of transportation, it leaves a lot of gaps. It's 1984 we're talking about, so I'm guessing hitchhiking could've been a possibility, but I haven't seen any reports of sightings or people who might've given him a ride.
Another thing I was thinking about is whether there were any checks at the U.S.-Canada border that could've documented his crossing. Did they not have records back then that might show he didn't make it past the border? Or, if they did, are those records lost or inaccessible? It's odd that someone can just vanish without a trace between two major cities.
If anyone's got ideas about what transportation options might've looked like back in '84 or any insight into border crossings around that time, it'd be great to hear. Maybe we can brainstorm more possibilities that haven't been considered yet. Every bit helps, right?
