Has anyone ever looked into the possibility that Brian could have used his birdwatching knowledge to survive longer in the wilderness? It's a bit of a long shot, but I keep thinking about his skills with nature and the trails being less established back in 1974. If he had a keen eye for bird species, maybe he also knew a few things about foraging or finding shelter, which could have taken him further off the grid than anyone anticipated. It's beyond tragic that no trace of him has surfaced, but could his abilities have inadvertently led him away from populated areas during his time missing? I'm curious if there were ever any discussions or records from those initial searches that considered this angle.
