I find it so unsettling how law enforcement's last contact with Roy New was simply a "field contact" listing him as homeless. It makes me wonder if there were any signs during that interaction of where he might be headed or if he was in need of help. If he was possibly heading to Tennessee, did they check with that state’s authorities or shelters there? Given his documented situation, it's surprising that there wasn't any coordinated effort to provide support or track down further leads on his potential whereabouts after that interaction. Roy's family must be feeling so helpless right now, especially being left with such a brief mention as the last known record. Does anyone here have experience with how these "field contacts" are typically handled or if there's a way to ensure more follow-up happens in similar situations?
