Hey all, I've been following the case of Jim Shadid, and something's been bugging me about his disappearance near Durango. I was wondering if anyone else noticed the unusual weather patterns in that area on the day he went missing? I stumbled upon some records that showed reports of sudden fog and increased winds that afternoon. The San Juan Mountains are already tricky terrain, but with the weather playing up, it could have been really disorienting, even for someone experienced like Jim. Do you think the shift in weather could have played a role in him losing his bearings or getting injured? I’ve read about similar cases where experienced hikers got into trouble because of sudden changes in weather. Would love to hear what others think about this angle! Stay safe, everyone.
