I've been following the Ann Marie Shaw Godbey case, and something that's really curious to me is the role Carla Godbey played in all of this. Walter initially gives that story about Ann Marie flying to the Philippines, which anyone who knew her would've found bizarre since her mother had already passed away. But years later, it's Carla who guides the authorities to where Ann Marie's belongings were hidden in their house. I can’t help but wonder how much Carla really knew about what happened and when she knew it. Did she only find those things later, or was she safeguarding them for Walter all along? Her accounts certainly stirred things up, and it seemed like maybe she was fearing for her life, too. There are so many unanswered questions about her motives and how deep her knowledge of the situation ran before Walter's arrest. I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts on what they think Carla's role might have been and why she eventually cooperated, if you can call it that, with the investigation.

Hey everyone, I was going through some older true crime cases and came across the story of Ann Marie Shaw Godbey. Just wanted to get your thoughts on something that's been on my mind. Do you think it's possible that Ann Marie might have kept any secret documents or evidence against Walter somewhere? I mean, considering she had such a rocky relationship with him and all, I'm wondering if she might have had a "just in case" stash hidden somewhere that could hold some clues. I know it's a shot in the dark, but maybe something like that could lead to more answers about what happened to her. Anyone else have similar theories or have you come across cases where something like that helped unravel the mystery?
