Does anyone else think the clothing Betty was wearing might be a key to understanding her disappearance? I mean, she was in a man's shirt and her sister's shoes when she went missing. It's just such an unusual choice for a 10-year-old. I wonder if she just grabbed whatever was available or if it was significant in some way. It makes me think about whether she wandered off deliberately or if something else happened. Could she have taken those items thinking she'd return soon, or was she planning to meet someone that morning? The theory of being taken by a passing motorist is plausible, but the choice of clothing keeps nagging at me. What do you all think? Could this detail tell us more about the mindset Betty was in when she left her family's temporary home?
