I’ve been following the Mandrell case and one thing that’s been on my mind is how far someone with Alzheimer's can actually wander in such a short amount of time. It's unsettling to think about how he ended up in Alton, Illinois, that one time. Has anyone come across info on whether there were sightings or any possible routes he might have taken? It's curious how he could manage to cover that kind of distance given his condition. Also, I'm wondering if anyone knows if there was a bus route or public transportation from New Jamestown Road to Alton back then. It's frustrating there are so few details on what happened that day. If anyone’s from the area and knows about the local transit, your insights could be really helpful.

The thing that really stands out to me about Mr. Mandrell’s disappearance is the fact that this wasn’t his first time wandering off. It worries me that he previously ended up in Alton, Illinois, considering that's quite a distance from where he lived in Clayton, Missouri. If he traveled that far before, there’s a chance he might have done something similar this time. With his Alzheimer’s, it must have been terrifying for him to be in an unfamiliar place. I’m not sure if I saw anyone mention this yet, but Alton is about a half-hour drive. It makes me wonder if that's a pattern of his when he gets disoriented. Could he even have been trying to head somewhere specific in that area? I know he had a medical bracelet with his son’s contact info, which is definitely a good thing. But I keep thinking about how easily those bracelets can be overlooked. If anyone is in the Alton area, maybe keep an eye out or spread the word. Also, are there local shelters or places frequented by older individuals where he might seek refuge? Would be good to hear if anyone has ideas on where else he might have headed or if there were any reported sightings outside of Clayton.
