Did anyone else find it odd that Clifford would head out to Cedar Bluff Reservoir instead of going to that job interview in Tulsa? It’s almost like he was trying to avoid something. I mean, a job interview is a big deal, especially when you've just lost your job. Why risk an opportunity like that? And that note—mentioning "old things" he wanted to change? Makes you wonder what was really going on in his life that made him take such a drastic detour. Maybe there's more to his visit to the reservoir, like he was meeting someone or following some hunch. The break-ins at those cabins afterward seem too coincidental too, right? If it really was Clifford who wrote in one of the cabins, maybe he was out there trying to "change" whatever those old things were, but just got caught up in something he didn’t expect. Thoughts?
Has anyone else been puzzled by the possible connection between Clifford Herl's disappearance and the burglary at the Southwest Daily Times? The fact that the break-in occurred shortly after he stopped showing up for work has me wondering if there's more to this. Given that there were no signs of forced entry, it's not far-fetched to think someone with inside knowledge orchestrated the burglary. Could Herl's sudden change in behavior and erratic actions be linked somehow?
I'm curious about how valid the theory is that whoever broke into the newspaper office might have had the security code, and what that might mean for Clifford's disappearance. If Herl knew the code and gave it to someone—or if he used it himself for some reason—that might explain the timing and nature of the burglary. Alternatively, could he have been caught up in something that took a dangerous turn?
I wonder if law enforcement is considering these angles. It's just strange that his job situation and the subsequent break-in don't seem to be coincidental, especially with his belongings found untouched in his truck. The mystery deepens!
