Has anyone else noticed the unusual timeline with John Dewayne Burrell's case? He reportedly left for McCurtain County, Oklahoma, on November 4, 1972, yet wasn't last seen until December 12, 1973. That's over a year with no confirmed sightings or updates. Could there be missing pieces in the timeline from when he left Arkansas to when he was last seen? It's not like unaccounted time is unheard of in cases like this, but it's quite a long gap. Maybe someone who knows more about the local history or community around Horatio, AR, and Broken Bow, OK, during that time could shed some light. Has anyone heard anything through local stories or maybe even family lore that could explain where he might've been during that time? It feels like something might have slipped through the cracks over the years.

Has anyone looked into the storms in the area around the time John Dewayne Burrell went missing? I've read that the Little River can swell significantly during heavy rainfalls. Maybe something like that could have affected search efforts or, unfortunately, the condition of any evidence. Especially back in the early '70s, I imagine weather patterns would have been tougher to track. It's such a remote location, too, right? Makes me wonder if the conditions themselves could have hindered how thoroughly they could search the river and surrounding areas. Natural elements certainly play a part, and any investigation in such terrains could be complicated without modern technology. Just thinking out loud here, but it’s something worth considering!
