It’s tough to think about how long Alan Forehand's case has been left unresolved. I was reading up on it again today and something that's always struck me is why someone would risk leaving a body in such a public place like Route 17. I mean, it's remote but it's still public. Wouldn't you think they’d be afraid of being spotted or leaving behind evidence? And the fact that someone was once considered a suspect but there wasn't enough to charge them must be so frustrating for Alan's family and friends. It's hard to fathom having to live without answers for decades. It's crucial for anyone who might know something to step up and help bring justice for Alan. His loved ones deserve to know what happened and have some peace.
Hello Websleuths,
I've been diving into the decades-old case of Alan Forehand's murder, and something that's been on my mind is the location where his body was found. Route 17 in Deep Creek is quite a secluded area even today, so I wonder how well the perpetrator knew the region. It's chilling to think about how someone could carry out such a brutal act and then seemingly disappear without a trace.
Does anyone know if this area was commonly traveled back in 1977, or had any particular significance that might have been overlooked by investigators at the time? If the suspect was familiar with the location, could there be connections to other unsolved cases nearby? It's tragic how Alan's family has had to wait so long for answers, and I hope they find peace soon.
Any local insights or thoughts on why this location was chosen could be invaluable. Thanks, everyone, for providing such a supportive community for discussing these hard topics.
