Does anyone have any insight into why Laurie's case has received so little media attention? It’s really disheartening to see a lack of updates, especially for someone so cherished by her community. I understand that 2017 saw a lot of homicides in Houston, but I worry that this case might be falling through the cracks because of that larger narrative. Her friends and family deserve some answers and closure. It seems to me that often, if there isn’t strong media pressure, cases can stall. Hoping that her family has been able to find support and that investigators are still pushing for justice behind the scenes. If anyone has heard anything reliable about the investigation, please share. Laurie's memory deserves to be kept alive in our efforts to seek the truth.
Hey everyone,
I've been reading through some old cases and wanted to talk about Laurie Ann Yarbrough. Her murder back in January 2017 in Houston still bothers me. I was wondering if anyone else finds it strange that there are so few updates on her case after all these years. I did some digging and realized that 2017 was a tough year for the city with a high number of homicides — even though there was, apparently, a slight reduction compared to 2016.
It makes me think about the sheer volume of cases detectives had to handle. Maybe overworked departments or lack of resources played a role in why there hasn’t been much news on Laurie’s case? For those who knew Laurie, this must be such a heavy weight to carry — not knowing if justice will ever be served. I hope her friends and family find the answers they deserve one day.
What do you all think might help get Laurie’s case the attention it needs again?
