Hey everyone, I've been digging into the Edward P. Matthews case, and one aspect that really caught my attention involves the witnesses. It's so frustrating to hear how many conflicting testimonies there were. I can only imagine how difficult this made the investigation for the detectives and the DA. It's such a shame that fear of retaliation or mistrust in the justice system prevents people from coming forward or speaking the truth. I wonder if there were enough protections or support for potential witnesses back then. Has anyone else come across cases where witness intimidation seemed to play a big role in complicating the search for justice? Thinking of Edward Matthews' family and hoping for peace and some form of closure for them. They deserve justice after all they've endured. Any thoughts or additional info on how witness cooperation was handled would be really appreciated!
