Is anyone familiar with the area around East 11th Street and Waller Street in Austin during the 1970s? I'm curious about the bar scene back then and what it might have been like. It seems like such a pivotal moment in Jennifer Barton’s timeline. Were there lots of bars around there, or was this a spot people generally avoided? Her case gives me the chills, especially with the van sighting and the California plates. I wonder if it was common for out-of-state vehicles to be in that area. The fact that she went missing right after talking to those two men is suspicious. Anyone with insights into that area or the bars from that time? I feel like understanding the local atmosphere might shed some light on her disappearance.

I’ve been digging into Jennifer Joyce Barton's case, and something just doesn’t sit right with her getting into that van. It was described as having California plates, which makes me wonder why nobody has looked deeper into possible out-of-state connections. Could it be linked to any other disappearances around that time involving vehicles with similar descriptions? There were several missing women in Austin in '76—it's frustrating that they haven't been able to connect the dots. I'm curious if any true crime buffs here have more info on other unsolved cases or van sightings back then. Could help shed light on what might have happened to Jennifer. Also, has there been any progress in identifying the two men she spoke to at the bar? Surprising that after all these years, there’s no more info about them. Any tiny lead could be crucial at this point. If anyone has family or historical knowledge about this era in Austin, your insights could be what brings even a small piece of this puzzle together.
