I’ve been following Karen Jo Smith’s case for a while now, and something that never made sense to me was how her children didn’t hear anything suspicious the night she disappeared. It’s perplexing because the house wasn’t massive, and a struggle might reasonably be expected to make some noise, especially with the kids home. Could it be that whatever happened to Karen was quick, or maybe even occurred after she left the house? I know there are a lot of theories out there, but I wonder if there’s more that could have been done at the time to determine what the kids might have heard, even if it didn’t seem important back then. Thoughts?
Has anyone else noticed the odd timing of Steven Halcomb's disappearance right after Karen went missing? It's always been strange to me that he vanished at the same time and then turned himself in later. His absence just screams guilt, especially when he didn’t show up for work the next day! And then there’s the cellmate testimony about the confession—that always makes me wonder if somewhere, somehow, more details about what really happened that night might come out. It's such a haunting case, and the fact that Karen's remains have never been found just leaves an uncomfortable feeling that there's still more to uncover. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
