Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the circumstances surrounding Elliot Cartwright's unsolved murder in Philly back in '09. It's just such a stark reminder of how prevalent gun violence was—and still is—in some areas. I've been reading about the memorial service his friends and family held for him. It's really touching to see a community come together to honor and remember someone loved so much, especially under such tragic circumstances.
With so many unsolved cases during that period, it must be incredibly painful for the victims' families. I can't imagine not having closure. It's sad because each case isn't just a statistic—it represents a life, like Elliot's, violently cut short. I hope that with increased community awareness and cooperation with law enforcement, some of these cold cases can eventually find resolutions.
Kudos to everyone out there who continues to support and fight for justice, and a huge shout out to those trying to mend the communities affected by such shadows of the past.
Stay safe, everyone.
Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Elliot Cartwright's case and the broader situation in Philly back in 2009. It’s so frustrating how so many families had to deal with the aftermath of such tragic losses during that violent month. I read about Elliot's service and how his community came together to honor him. It must have been incredibly comforting, at least a little, for his family and friends to see so much support despite the circumstances.
I just keep thinking about how close-knit communities are sometimes the ones suffering the most due to ongoing violence. It seems like everyone knew someone affected during that time. It's a stark reminder of the ripple effect that crime has on neighborhoods. Does anyone have more info on initiatives that have developed in Philly since then to tackle gun violence? I hope there's been progress, not just in seeking justice for Elliot and others but in preventing this kind of tragedy in the first place. I’d love to hear your thoughts or any updates if you’ve got them.
