I was reading about Antoine Sturdivant's tragic murder, and something that really strikes me is the bravery he showed trying to break up the fight. It's so troubling to think about how a night intended for enjoyment with friends turned so drastically violent. It's clear he cared deeply for those around him and just wanted to prevent things from getting worse. I just hope that anyone who might have seen something, no matter how small, thinks about coming forward to help bring some peace to his friends and family. It's painful to see these situations where someone trying to do the right thing pays such a heavy price. My thoughts go out to all who knew him. Anyone else find themselves thinking of similar incidents in other cities? It just makes you wonder how we can create safer environments in these spaces.
