Has anyone else looked into the possibility that Rogelio Cerda might've somehow survived and started a new life elsewhere? I get that he was declared drowned due to that strong undertow at Matagorda Beach, but it seems odd considering he was known to swim well. Plus, there was the strange stuff after he went missing—like those cryptic phone calls his family mentioned. Could it be he managed to get to shore in another location and just decided to vanish for good? Given the tension with his dad and the fact that he might've wanted to run away, this angle doesn’t seem too far-fetched to me. Has anyone found any leads or information on other sightings or potential places he might've ended up? Would love to hear other thoughts or theories!
Has anyone else looked into the reports of those strange phone calls Rogelio's family received after his disappearance? I find it really intriguing because it suggests there might be more to the story than what's on the surface. Were these calls ever traced or taken seriously by the authorities at the time? I wonder if they could have been pranks or if there's a possibility that Rogelio managed to survive the undertow and get to safety. It must be so frustrating for the family not to have a clear answer after all these years. If only technology back then was like what we have today, maybe those calls could have provided more leads. Thoughts?
Has anyone else dug into the strange phone calls that Rogelio's family reported after his disappearance? I'm fascinated by this aspect of the case because it adds such a mysterious layer to the whole situation. These calls supposedly came in after authorities had concluded that Rogelio drowned, which makes me question who might have been behind them. Were they really from Rogelio, someone playing a cruel prank, or possibly someone who knew more about what happened than they've let on?
It's chilling to think there could have been a bigger picture, something beyond just a tragic accident with the ocean currents. I feel like this angle hasn't been explored enough, and it might hold the key to more information. Maybe someone local from back then remembers something that could connect the dots? If you're from the Bay City area and recall any rumors or specifics about these calls, please share. Any new insights could help shake something loose from this case that has been cold for so long.
